SOMETIMES I FIND IT HARD• to believe there's someone else who could be •JUST AS MESSED UP AS ME Teddy was ready to get out of this school already. Senior year was just getting annoying. Garret was always working, trying to find a time to give a shit about anything anymore. He wanted to help Garret out more than he was already with just the library job. It paid, but not well enough to help Garret with most of the bills. Teddy's money mostly went towards food, which he had no problem with. He tried to let Garret take all the money he made, but his brother wouldn't let him do that. His brother figured that he worked hard for the money he earned, so he should be able to keep some of it. He fixed his hat as he walked down the halls of the high school as he entered the lunch room. He looked around to find the normal people who sat together, well, sitting together of course. He looked to find his friends gathering at their lunch table. The newest one added to their group was a freshman named Evan. Evan was like a younger verson of all of them put together almost, which was pretty funny for the most part.
He got in line to get all his food and drink and stepped out of the line. He took his regular spot in between Max and Scott. Then, the girls of the table started to appear to take their spots. Vickie, took her place next to Scott and then Miranda sat next to Evan. Vickie started to speak up on how she forgot her chips and water and didn't want to get up to get it. Almost like it was planned, Scott and Max elbowed Teddy in his rib cage to be a man and get it for her. Max, Scott, and Ron all thought that he should've asked out Vickie by now. When he had first came here, she was the first one he had met and became friends with and all of this other shit of course. The three guys all thought that they should be together, but Teddy didn't exactly want to go out with her. Oh well. He would go to college and it would all be over. He rolled his eyes and still did it though. Vickie thanked him and he waved his hand back and nodded.
He knew how Vickie felt; she felt the same way. Those three were just dumb teenage boys with nothing better to do then to try and get people to date with one another. They both found it quite annoying and just laughed about it in the end. They never came up with scenarios about what would happen if they did end up dating though. He finally got her chips and water and finally headed back to the table so he could sit and enjoy his lunch finally. However, someone had run into him. He tried to catch as much as he could. He ended up cathcing his food, but saw the girl almost dive to catch her stuff. He heard her apologize and asking if he was okay. He bent down to help her pick up her stuff, "I'm fine. No bruises or scars to speak of. You look like you almost fell, are you okay?" He tried to help her gather he stuff back on to the tray. she had blond hair and big brown eyes. She brushed a little bit of her hair back behind her ear and he gave a half grin, "My name is Teddy, or that's my nickname rather." He figured that he might as well introduce himself to her just because he could. TAGGED ! danie WORDS ! 606 OUTFIT ! CLICK LYRICS ! sometimes by skillet TEMPLATE ! PANIC! SOMETIMES I FIND IT HARD• to believe there's someone else who could be •JUST AS MESSED UP AS ME Teddy shook the chip bag to make sure that all the chips weren't completely broken, although he couldn't exactly tell if they were or not; they were chips. Either way, Vickie would still eat them all even if they were crushed to the bone. Chips were chips, even if they were crushed. He got a good look at the girl from this angle. The blond hair and dark brown eyes. She wore a dark red dress, and black high tops. He kept his smug grin to himself, remembering that that he had his red ones on that would match the red dress nicely. He moved his hair out of his eyes since most of it had fallen in his face after he had bent down. He moved most of it to tuck it inside his hat and behind his ear; kind of similar to what the girl had done previously.
The girl mentioned that she was fine as well and was still sorry that she ran into him. "Don't worry about it too much. Like I said, no bruises or cuts to be spoken of." Teddy got tired of being on his knee so he just went a head and popped a squat on his butt. He crossed his legs and waited for the girl to speak up once more. She said that her name was Danie, stealing his line. "Well, I'm pleased to meet you then Danie." He felt like he knew her from somewhere. He looked around the lunch room to find some guy standing up and looking over at them. He then looked over at his table to find Max wondering what was happening; or rather had his dumb face on. Not that there was much difference from his regular face. After he looked back at the boy that was looking at them, his attention was brought back to the Danie character; she asked if he could hand her the tea that had rolled out of her reach. He scooted and grabbed it, reaching really far.
He grabbed it and then sat it on her tray for her. That guy was still staring at them though, which it was kind of freaking him out a little a bit. He stood up and pulled up his pants a little, reaching out to help her get up. "So, do you know that guy that is staring at us? Because he's kind of freaking me out a little bit." He shook his head and brought his full attention back to the blond hair girl. "Anyways. So, what grade are ya in?" He figured he might as well strike up a conversation with Danie. There was no harm in talking to some one, right? Except she seemed kind of familiar looking. He didn't know if he'd seen her around school or anything, but her face seemed familiar. Then it hit him, "Hey, you're that Scott girl right? Sorry. I mean, you're family like, helped make this town, right?" He had been here for a few years now and had heard a lot about the four families that had helped build this town up from nothing. That meant that she was probably rich, old money, which was usually worse. TAGGED ! danie WORDS ! 536 OUTFIT ! CLICK LYRICS ! sometimes by skillet TEMPLATE ! PANIC! ITS LAUZ @ CAUTION NOTES ! it okay

Danie noticed that Teddy had shaken his chip bag. Probably making sure I didn’t crush them all. She thought for a moment, ”I can buy you a new bag if I crushed the bag. It’s the least I can do.” She noticed that he was slightly looking her down and was trying to hide his smirk, but wasn’t doing a very good job. She blushed a little at the thought of someone actually looking her down. She also noticed that he tucks his hair behind his ear too. Odd, but in a funny way.
For some reason Teddy was being externally nice to her about her running into him. He kept saying that it was okay and fine. Danie was used to guys just nodding and telling her to watch where she was going. After all her mother taught her that it is always a lady’s job to apologize, not the man’s. Teddy rotated to a sitting position and said that he was pleased to meet her. Danie looked around as Teddy did and noticed some people gawking at them. She guessed that the guy Teddy was looking at was one of his friends; she noticed that he had this blank confused look on his face. Then Danie noticed her best friend looking at her in an odd manor as if saying ‘are you okay?’ mixed with ‘what the hell’. She got this sheepish look on her face.
Teddy was nice and scooted and reached to get her tea for her. He sat it on her tray, which was still sitting on the floor looking amiss. Teddy stood and adjusted his pants and then held out his hand for Danie to take. She took it and hoisted herself up in a very lady like manor. After Danie had picked up her tray and adjusted herself Teddy glanced back at her friend. He asked if she knew the guy staring at them. She nodded her head, ”Yeah I do. He’s my best friend. Oh and trust me he harmless. He’s probably just wondering what’s going on and if I’m okay.” She mouthed to her best friend to sit down, and to enforce it she took one hand off her tray and motioned for him to sit. Thankfully he did. Danie noticed the blank faced guy still gawking at them. ”I’m assuming that the guy over there, with the blank face, is your friend? He looks a little confused.”
Teddy asked what grade she was in. ”I’m a junior. What grade are you in?” Teddy’s name had been bouncing in her head for a while and then it rang a bell.
You should stay away from people like him. That boy and his brother are trouble. His brother runs that tacky tattoo shop and rude. Also that boy, all he does is clown around. Don’t you forget Danielle that they are trouble, understood? If you notice they have no parents. That’s because they ran away from home. What kind of child runs away from parents, a troubled child that’s who. Your father and I agree that you will never talk to either of them or anyone else like them. Understood?!
Danie didn’t understand why her mother said he was trouble. All he had been was nice and helpful to her. Just then Teddy asked if she was that Scott girl, the family that helped make the town. She nodded. ”Yes, I’m a part of the Scott family. And yes we did help build the town. “ She sighed a little. She hated being known for her family and their money and not for herself.

SOMETIMES I FIND IT HARD• to believe there's someone else who could be •JUST AS MESSED UP AS ME As he finished up shaking the bag, she said that she could buy him a new one if he would like. He shook his head, "Don't worry about it. Chips are still chips even if they might be crushed." He shrugged his shoulders. "If my friend is too lazy to get up and get her own chips, then she can deal with crushed ones anyways." Besides, he was kind of forced into getting the chips anyways. He got elbowed at the same time by two different people, in the damn rib cage if he didn't mention before hand. He didn't understand his dumb ass friends some times. He looked back, wondering if his other friends at the table were looking as well, but they seemed interested in their own conversation, which made him worry less. However, he wished Max would stop staring at them. He'd probably end up punching him later for it though since that's how things went with him anyways. Max and Teddy were best friends, probably the closest he's been with anyone in a long time. The only person that he was closer to was Garret, his older brother. Max knew and understood everything about who and what Teddy was, which for him that was easier.
He felt bad for not telling his closer friends about how him and Garret actually ended up here though. An acoholic mother and a dead beat father. He supposed that everyone had their sad stories and his was just one of those that didn't matter. Max would always be there for him though, no matter what was happening in the mix. When he looked back up at her, Danie seemed almost confused about something. Was no one ever nice to her or something? It made him wonder what people were really like. He didn't associate himself with everyone and he had good reason not to either. He noticed that she had caught a glimpse of Max probably and looked away at the guy standing. She was brought back when he had set the drink on her tray and stood up, reaching for her hand to help her up. She took it with no second thoughts and grabbed the tray. To answer his question on the guy, she said that he was one of her best friends and he was harmless; probably just wondering if she was okay.
She must have said something to calm him down and he eventually sat back down in his seat. The blond finally asked about his friend, mentioning his blank face. Teddy chuckled a bit about it as well, "That would be mine yes. Max. He's my best friend and has been since day one." He turned around gave him the evil eye and he turned around to focus back on the table. The whole table started to laugh at it and Teddy turned back around to find out that she was a junior, "Senior and ready to get out."
She seemed consumed in a thought for a minute about something. Teddy was not about to ask what she could have been thinking about because it was honestly none of his business of course. She did accept being apart of the Scott family, but sighed at the end of it. He cocked his head, "Don't sound so enthused." Maybe she didn't like her family? He could understand that. "Hey, why don't I grab my stuff and give this to my friend and we can sit at an empty table and talk a little more?" He didn't wait for a response though, he smiled and jogged back to his table. Max and Scott were obviously the first ones to say something about his new 'girlfriend', but Miranda told him to stay away from her and her rich little best friend. He rolled his eyes, gave the chips and drink to Vickie, grabbing his backpack and walked back towards Danie.
Miranda was pretty much wired into everything that happened in the town. She's lived here her whole life and has known everyone who comes in or out, gossip, and the dirty deeds on ever single person. Teddy sat down at an empty table near the front of the cafeteria and waited for Danie. He checked his phone, seeing that they had at least a good fifteen minutes to chat, but also a message from Miranda. It basically held info on Danie and her friend. Her mother worked with her father and he had complained about Teddy and his brother moving here. Her father had told Miranda's mom to tell her to stay away from the two brothers because they were nothing but trouble. They had obviously ran away from home because they were bad kids. Teddy made a fist and bit his tongue, trying not to yell at the people that sat in the lunch room at the current moment. It wasn't their fault people were so ignorant to situations they had no idea of. And he wasn't about to take it out on Danie since apparently her father had told her to stay away from him. Maybe she didn't even know who he was, but maybe she did. Who knows, but Teddy could have cared less. TAGGED ! danie WORDS ! 867 OUTFIT ! CLICK LYRICS ! sometimes by skillet TEMPLATE ! PANIC! Teddy said that chips where chips and that his friend could deal with crushed chips since she was too lazy to get them herself. Danie cocked her head to the side slightly. "Oh I see, since she was too lazy to get them, you where nice enough to get them for her. How sweet." Danie really did think that it was sweet of Teddy to get his friends food, even if she was too lazy to get it herself. Danie liked guys who did stuff like that. Maybe that's why Danie and her best friend Todd where best friends, even though they were boy and girl. After all they have known each other their whole lives. They grew up down the road from each other and their moms have been planning things for them to do together for a long time. They were always there for each other, no matter what.
Teddy claimed the other guy, said his name was Max and that it was his best friend. Danie chuckled when Teddy turned around and gave Max the evil eye. She felt like that was something she would do to Arabelle her other best friend. Arabelle was Danie’s wild friend who did everything and anything, including rushing. But back to Teddy, he said that he was a senior and ready to get out. Danie nodded her head in agreement. ”I know. I don’t think I can last another year here. I can’t wait for university.” Honestly Danie couldn’t wait. She was already counting down the days until she moved into her dorm at West Texas.
He commented that she didn’t sound too enthused to be apart of her family. Danie shook her head side to side. ”Honestly, I love them, but I can’t stand them most of the time now.” Teddy put up his hand and said that he was going to grab his stuff and they could sit at an empty table and talk. Before she could answer he was already walking away to get his stuff and deliver the chips. Maybe this won’t be as bad as my mom assumes it will be. He seems nice enough to talk with for the rest of lunch. But after that we can’t talk anymore because heaven forbid my mom find out I’ve been talking to him. Danie just laughed to herself, ”Why the hell not.” She started to walk over to her normal table to tell Todd and Arabelle that she was going to sit with him and talk.
Todd:”Hey you okay?” Arabelle:”Way to go Danie, ran into a cutie.” –She winks at Danie- Danie:”Yes I’m fine Todd no need to worry. Hey Arabelle, I’m going to go sit with him and talk.” -Before Arabelle can talk Todd shoots out- ”No. No. and No. You know your mom will kill you if she finds out. Hell she’ll kill me too for letting it happen.” ”Oh hush up Todd, what mommy doesn’t know won’t hurt her. What’s his name?” ”No she WILL find out. She knows everything.” ”Will you shut up Todd. Maybe Danie wants to talk with him.” -Todd and Arabelle start bickering- ”Will you both shut up. Yes I want to talk with him. He’s nice and his name is Teddy. Well at least that’s his nickname.” -Danie sighs- ”Todd please just chill out. My mom won’t know and I will see you guys after lunch. Bye.” Danie walked away from her table before Todd could protest anymore.
Danie smiled at Teddy as he walked away from his table and headed toward the empty table about halfway between them. Danie started walking toward the table. Her heart was beating so fast, but she couldn’t figure out why. Why am I so nervous?
Danie set her tray down and sat her backpack on the floor and sat down. She started to open her salad to eat. ”So…It looked like you got an earful from your other friend over there. She looked kind of worried. Does she think I’m gonna bite?” She laughed a little to lighten her question.
