Girl 1 and Boy 1 have been together for about three years now. They were the high school sweethearts and everything. All their friends asked them how they did it, but they just said that they got along very well. Girl 1 is the girl that is used to getting everything she wants, she grew up with a rich family and her parents spoiled her. However, she lost it all when her father put an investment in a scam. She had to go to the public high school and everything. The other kids picked on her and laughed because well, everyone knew who she was and what has happened. Boy 1 was the nerdy type. He wasn’t very athletic and got all the good grades in school. When the two first meet, it’s a disaster. He spilled coffee on her and she becomes angry, saying that he would have to buy her a new shirt because the coffee ruined her nice white one. After Boy 1 finally managed to make it up to Girl 1, their lives went back to normal. She tried to hold her head high and he became just a distant memory.
Sophomore year begins with geometry first thing in the morning. Boy 1 sees Girl 1 and puts his head down in shame, hoping that she wouldn’t remember him. However, she did. She was placed in the seat to the left of him and she ignored him. After a few weeks though, everyone had eventually made friends except for those two. So, one brave day, Boy 1 finally decided to talk to Girl 1. She tried not to be too mean to him since he was the first one that had talked to her without being so cruel. After that, the two became friends without trouble. They hung out and they did everything together. Boy 1 could have cared less if Girl 1 had been rich or poor. They eventually ended up together in the middle of their sophomore year and stayed strong. Boy 1 began to branch out more, picking up baseball for a sport and Girl 1 joined the speech team, easily becoming a captain and winning a lot of blue ribbons.
They were voted, by their senior class, that they were ‘the cutest couple’. The two seemed to be built for one another almost. However, at the end of the senior year, things seemed to begin to fall apart slowly. Girl 1’s father became rich once more and he said that dating someone from a lower class was not allowed in his house. She fought to protect their relationship, but nothing seemed to work. Finally, she ended it with him. Every one of their friends questioned why she would do that if she claimed to love him so much, but it was just too complicated to understand and explain for others. Boy 1 didn’t leave his house for days at a time, only coming out when it was necessary. However, something seemed to click in his brain and he seemed fine. The two run into one another quite often on the streets, seeing as though it’s a small town. She saw how happy he had become overnight and assumed that a new girl had stepped in her place. It was if the roles were reversed, not that she was ever happy to break up with him in the first place. However, she never seemed to get out of her slump. She missed her relationship and left her home in the middle of the night with all her thins and some money so she could possibly be happy again.
The two characters are just fresh out of high school, so no younger than 17 but no older than 19, depending on birthdays and whatnot. The two can be in whatever kind of job and predicament that you would like them to be. Since the plot ends with Girl 1 leaving in the middle of the night of her home, the two players are in charge of figuring out what is to happen next of course. Boy 1 could take her back, or he can deny her. Maybe Girl 1 doesn’t even want to go back, but what fun would that be? Like I said, ya’ll are in charge of what happens next.
Without the Bitter the Sweet Isn’t as Sweet is a Mayday Parade song.
